The payment cycle for October 2023 is planned as follows: social grants for older persons will be disbursed on 3rd October 2023, followed by payments for individuals with disabilities on 4th October 2023. Finally, children’s grant categories will be paid starting from 5th October 2023.

Beneficiaries are entitled to select their preferred payment method, exercising their right to choose. To make a choice, forms can be obtained at the nearest SASSA offices. Agency staff will also be stationed at most South African Post Office (SAPO) outlets and other payment platforms during the first three payment days to oversee the process and assist with any inquiries.

In the event of any system-related payment issues or non-payment due to failed bank verification and/or pending bank verification, SASSA staff will be available to help beneficiaries. Any unexpected non-payment cases related to system issues will be immediately escalated to Postbank and resolved as swiftly as possible.
