2023 Wine Whales & Music Weekend at De Hoop

The highly anticipated Wine Whales & Music Weekend will be held from June 23 to June 25 in, 2023, featuring an exciting program packed with activities. The weekend festivities begin with an optional nature drive or eco-boat cruise, delicious canapés and beverages. Then, on Friday evening, guests will enjoy wine tasting, dinner, and music by Namibian-born Johan Liebenberg, who specializes in Neil Diamond’s songs.

On Saturday, visitors can choose to participate in the early guided bird walk along the vlei and indulge in wine and cheese tastings from various vineyards and cheesemakers. Guests have the opportunity to attend two different lectures on Saturday. The first one is named “Cohabiting with Marine Wildlife in the Urban Environment,” while the second one is titled “Turtles of De Hoop.” The Fig Tree Restaurant will host the Whale Time Serenade for Strings and Flute, featuring world-class musicians.

Sunday morning’s highlights involve a guided Marine Walk at Koppie Alleen, followed by whale watching with guest speaker Brett Glasby and De Hoop guides. The two-night stay rates range from R2 580 to R6 800 per person sharing a room, including dinner, bed, breakfast, entertainment, wine and cheese tastings, guest speaker presentations, and high tea. However, the rates do not include drinks, workshops, and guided activities.
