The web-based solution, affectionately known as the “IDP in Your Pocket,” has received acclaim for being user-friendly and accessible.

Understanding the Significance of the IDP

The plan is compiled based on extensive public participation processes and updated annually. It is, in effect, the municipality’s business plan, and anything not in it needs to be budgeted.

Adoption of the New IDP

Recently, Alderman Harold Cleophas, the Swartland Executive Mayor, announced that the draft the Council had approved IDP, and the final version would be presented in May. The online IDP is a significant step towards better service delivery and community engagement, allowing residents to participate in medium- and long-term planning that impacts their communities.
