Young Girl Survives Terrifying Accident in Paarl

An 11-year-old girl in Paarl amazed everyone with her exceptional courage and resilience when she miraculously survived a horrific accident. The incident occurred when a 20-ton construction vehicle unexpectedly dropped its load during roadworks and toppled sideways onto a passing car. The accident took place on the Paarl R301 to Franschhoek opposite Boschandmeer Estate.

The Accident and Rescue

The Drakenstein Farm Watch (DFW) reported the accident and shared a video of the event on their Facebook page. As per DFW, the heavy truck trailer crushed the passenger side of the car, trapping the young girl in her seat. Her father suffered minor head injuries and scratches but managed to escape narrowly. Despite his injuries, he remained with his daughter throughout the entire rescue operation.

The DFW Emergency volunteer responders acted swiftly and multiple rescue teams from different organizations soon joined them. The rescue operation continued for over two hours and involved a meticulous process of tilting and lifting the truck and cutting the vehicle into pieces to free the girl.

The Girl’s Recovery

After a successful rescue operation, the girl was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical attention. Although the police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, the DFW expressed hope for the girl’s full recovery and extended their gratitude to all who participated in the rescue operation.
