The Masakh’iSizwe Bursary Programme (MiS) is an initiative aimed at addressing the skills shortage in critical disciplines in the Western Cape region of South Africa. The MiS bursary programme collaborates with the University of Stellenbosch, the University of Cape Town, and the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. The programme aims to promote the inclusion of female students in traditionally male-dominated sectors by providing financial support to students who come from financially challenged backgrounds.

The department also provides a mentorship programme instrumental in helping the students adjust to the professional sphere and work towards achieving their goals. The project has already delivered 433 housing opportunities to beneficiaries, including backyard dwellers, elderly persons, and those living with disabilities.
