Kaizer Chiefs, a renowned South African football club, is on the lookout for talented midfield players to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. They have been linked to a couple of players in recent weeks, and more names are expected to emerge as the team casts a wide net in their search.

Fabrice Ngoma on Chiefs’ Radar

One player who has piqued the Chiefs’ interest is Congolese midfielder Fabrice Ngoma. With the recent termination of his contract at Al Hilal in Sudan, speculation about a move to Amakhosi has intensified. Though Ngoma is a free agent, the Chiefs are not limiting their search for a defensive midfielder to him alone.

Tatenda Tavengwa: A Rising Star

Recent reports from Zimbabwe suggest that the Chiefs are also eyeing Venda FA star Tatenda Tavengwa. Tavengwa has made quite an impression in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, the second tier of South African football, since joining Venda FA at the start of the recently concluded season. His stellar performance has caught the attention of several top-flight giants, including the Chiefs and Swallows.

Competition for Tavengwa

Sekhukhune United, the Nedbank Cup finalists, are also considering Tavengwa for their roster. However, according to sources in his homeland, the Chiefs and Swallows are currently trailing Dube Birds in the race to secure his signature.

Talks Ongoing for Tavengwa

As a source from Tavengwa’s camp told H-Metro, “Talks are ongoing, Swallows are very interested, and they have made an official offer which they are still negotiating; Sekhukhune have also inquired about the player, and they are still yet to make an official offer just like Kaizer Chiefs. Kaizer Chiefs made their intentions known recently, but I’m still yet to get anything concrete from their end; as things stand, Swallows are in pole position.”

Chiefs’ Interest in Tavengwa

Despite the reports, it would be surprising if the Chiefs are genuinely interested in Tavengwa, as his name has not been mentioned in connection with the team before. Moreover, the fact that he is currently playing in a lower division raises further questions about the validity of these rumors.

As the Kaizer Chiefs look to enhance their squad with midfield talent for the new season, fans and experts will eagerly watch to see if any of the potential signings come to fruition. With the stakes high and the need for a strong midfield presence, the Chiefs’ choices in the coming weeks could determine their success in the forthcoming campaign.
