Le Roux debuted in June 1993, playing against France in Durban. His international rugby career ended in December 1996, with his final Test against Wales in Cardiff. During the 1995 Rugby World Cup, he played an instrumental role, featuring in all six of the Springboks’ matches, and partnering with fellow center Japie Mulder to contain the formidable All Blacks during the final. Le Roux initially played as a flyhalf and later switched to inside center. He retired from the sport in 2000 after acquiring multiple Currie Cup titles with the Lions.

Post-retirement from rugby, Hennie le Roux embarked on a new journey as an entrepreneur and business owner. In 1998, he co-founded the South African Rugby Players’ Association (SARPA) and served as its president until 2008. Le Roux’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish several businesses, including Crown River Safari. Today, he devotes much of his time to Crown River Safari, a luxury lodge situated on Medbury Farm outside Grahamstown.
