Gigi Rooftop Restaurant & Bar

Located just off St Georges Mall in Cape Town, Gigi Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is a trendy hotspot that has made a name for itself since its opening in May 2019. The cafe’s top-notch tipples, excellent food, and up-to-the-minute design make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a unique experience.

Design Destination at Gigi Rooftop Restaurant & Bar

Situated on the sixth-floor rooftop of the Gorgeous George Hotel, Gigi Rooftop Restaurant & Bar has been exquisitely renovated and decorated by some of the city’s hottest design talents. Award-winning designer Tristan du Plessis has created a plush, contemporary-African interior design that is complemented by lighting and furniture from David Krynauw, Gregor Jenkin, Studio 19, and Douglas&Co.

The wooden and terracotta-tiled pool deck with an emerald-green glass-paneled swimming pool and views of whitewashed heritage buildings give the rooftop a slick design edge. Despite the luxurious environment, the vibe here is easy-going and laidback, with lots of noise and chatter – even families can be spotted among the hip city slickers.

Brunch and Cocktails at Gigi Rooftop Restaurant & Bar

Executive chef Guy Bennett, who has worked at some of the city’s top restaurants, has created a series of brunch dishes that cater to hotel guests and inner-city slickers alike. Brunch is served on the last Sunday of every month, from 11 am until 3 pm. Guests can expect everything from fresh oysters to braaied baby chicken and churros – all of which are best enjoyed with slick beats and heavenly cocktails created by resident mixologist Jody Rahme.

In-house mixologist Jody Rahme’s wild, tiki-inspired cocktails will hit the spot for anyone looking to enjoy a unique drinking experience. Jody says, “The heart of Gigi is community. It’s where a melting pot of well-traveled, storied creatives meet with local powerhouses to have fun. It’s a rich blend of art, culture, romance, and intrigue, so it’s only natural that our cocktail menu reflects that adventurous, playful color, vibrancy, and truly global craftsmanship.”
