kaizer chiefs midfield reinforcements Cape Town

Kaizer Chiefs are on a hunt for a new midfielder to add to their squad for the upcoming season. The club has been scouting for potential talent and has reportedly shown interest in Congolese midfielder Fabrice Ngoma. Another name that has emerged as a possible addition to the team is Zimbabwean midfielder Tatenda Tavengwa.

Fabrice Ngoma

Fabrice Ngoma was expected to be a target for Kaizer Chiefs, given the interest the club had shown in him previously. Ngoma recently terminated his contract with Al Hilal, which led to suspicions of a potential move to Amakhosi. Although the club could still make a move for Ngoma, they have not limited their search for a defensive midfielder to just him.

Tatenda Tavengwa

Recent reports suggest that Kaizer Chiefs are keen on signing Venda Football Academy star, Tatenda Tavengwa. Tavengwa recently joined Venda FA and impressed with his performance for the Motsepe Foundation Championship side. His impressive form in the second tier of South African football has attracted the attention of multiple top-flight giants, including Kaizer Chiefs and Swallows FC, as well as Nedbank Cup finalists Sekhukhune United.

According to sources in Zimbabwe, Amakhosi and Babina Noko are trailing the Dube Birds in a race to sign Tavengwa. Swallows FC has already submitted an official bid for the player, making them the most proactive in their efforts to secure Tavengwa’s signature. Zimbabwean publication H-Metro suggests that Swallows FC is the most likely destination for Tavengwa, rather than Chiefs.

Kaizer Chiefs’ pursuit of Tavengwa

The pursuit of Tavengwa highlights Kaizer Chiefs’ commitment to strengthening their midfield as they prepare for the upcoming season. While Fabrice Ngoma remains an option, the club’s interest in Tavengwa indicates a desire to explore all available talent. As the competition for Tavengwa’s signature heats up, it will be interesting to see how the situation develops and whether Kaizer Chiefs will take decisive action to secure the promising Zimbabwean midfielder.
