The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) is proud to host the 9th BRICS Youth Summit and the Meeting of Ministers for Youth Affairs from July 18 to 20, 2023. Young leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa will gather in eThekwini, KwaZulu-Natal under the theme “BRICS and Africa: Partnership for Mutually Accelerated Growth, Sustainable Development and Inclusive Multilateralism” to promote peace, security, and development.

Establishing a Platform for Dialogue

The BRICS Youth Summit aims to provide a platform for dialogue among member states’ youth delegates to develop a concrete action plan for cooperation in various fields like economics, humanitarian efforts, mass media, and science. This year, South Africa leads the BRICS nations, focusing on discussions that encourage young leaders to address critical global challenges actively.

Encouraging Constructive Engagements

The summit aims to establish constructive engagements on youth empowerment issues and advancing youth development by emphasizing economic and social issues. Young leaders will work together to create a conducive environment for devising a path towards a brighter and better future.

Attending the Summit

The Youth Summit will be attended by Youth Ministers, Heads of Executive Authorities for Youth, Senior Government Officials, and youth representatives. The outcomes of the BRICS Youth Summit will be presented to the Ministers’ Meeting for decision-making and adoption of the presentations and resolutions made by delegates at the summit.

Media Coverage

The event will take place in eThekwini, KwaZulu-Natal, and members of the media are invited to attend, with their ID and Press Card required for accreditation. The deadline for RSVP is July 10, 2023.
