The Cape of Good Hope SPCA’s vet shop faced a devastating robbery in July 2023 during Stage 6 loadshedding. The store was left in a state of disarray, with significant damage to its interior, structure, and merchandise. In the aftermath of the incident, the need for an uninterruptible power supply became apparent.

Automation Africa’s Generous Donation

Automation Africa stepped up to the plate and generously donated a state-of-the-art 5 KVA Luxpower Hybrid inverter system, complete with a WiFi dongle for remote monitoring, and a 5.12 Kw 48V Lithium Volta battery. This powerful setup will ensure that the vet shop’s security systems remain operational even during Eskom’s outages.

Gratitude from the Cape of Good Hope SPCA

Moyo Ndukwana, the CEO of the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, expressed deep gratitude for the donation. He highlighted the inverter system’s importance in securing not only the shop’s assets but also the SPCA’s commercial income. Ndukwana explained that all profits generated by the vet shops directly support their day-to-day operations, allowing them to continue their vital animal rescue work.

The Motivation Behind Automation Africa’s Contribution

Mark Bristow, the director of Automation Africa, shared the motivation behind the company’s generous contribution. He emphasized the shared love for animals within the Automation Africa team and their good fortune to be in a position to give back to the community. Bristow said, “We admire the organization’s work and their efforts to help themselves via an income-generating initiative, and we wanted to support that.”

The Power of Communities Coming Together

The collaboration between the Cape of Good Hope SPCA and Automation Africa not only demonstrates the company’s generosity but also highlights the power of communities coming together for a greater good. This spirit of goodwill is crucial for organizations like the Cape of Good Hope SPCA, who work tirelessly to ensure the welfare and protection of animals.

Overcoming Challenges with Perseverance and Mutual Support

The donation of the advanced inverter system and battery serves as a testament to the strength and resilience of communities when faced with challenges. It serves as a reminder that, through perseverance and mutual support, we can overcome even the most difficult of circumstances. The Cape of Good Hope SPCA vet shop now stands stronger, with a renewed sense of optimism and a steadfast commitment to its mission of safeguarding the welfare of animals in need.
