Regular Maintenance

This initiative is part of the city’s regular maintenance to ensure a durable and efficient road network for its citizens and industries. By prioritizing road maintenance, the city aims to create a more efficient transportation system that benefits its residents and businesses alike.

Traffic Disruptions

Road users must brace for disruptions as the work is scheduled between 07:30 and 17:00 on weekdays, and possible weekends and nighttime work between 19:00 and 06:00. Traffic in both directions will be affected, and congestion is anticipated due to partial road closures. Flag personnel will guide vehicles through temporary detours around the work zones, while alternative routes are recommended for a smooth commute.

City’s Commitment

Councillor Rob Quintas, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Transport, acknowledges the temporary inconvenience. However, he emphasizes the long-term advantages of these roadworks. Quintas states that the smooth road surface outcomes will please residents and businesses in the area. In the meantime, he urges commuters to exercise caution and adhere to the temporary road signs until the work is completed.

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate remains committed to continuous improvement and timely maintenance of its road network. Maps outlining the specific roads undergoing work provide a clear overview of the road sections involved in the project. These visual aids offer valuable insights to road users and help them plan their travel routes accordingly.

Improved Infrastructure

Cape Town’s industrial zones, Sacks Circle Industria and Elsies River Industria, have witnessed substantial growth over the years, necessitating improved infrastructure to accommodate the increased vehicular movement. With a structured plan and efficient execution, the resurfacing project is expected to significantly improve the road conditions in these industrial areas.

Sustained Progress

As Cape Town’s industrial zones continue to grow and prosper, infrastructure development remains a crucial aspect of ensuring their sustained progress. The City of Cape Town’s focused efforts on road maintenance and improvement will undoubtedly enhance the overall functionality and connectivity of Sacks Circle Industria and Elsies River Industria. As these zones thrive, so does the city and its residents.
