The Assault

Sydney Classen, a convicted rapist, assaulted the psychologist in a bathroom at the prison. Thanks to the prompt response from a guard and an inmate, who heard the psychologist’s screams, they managed to pry Classen away from the victim, who was still in his violent grip. A sharp object was found in Classen’s possession, highlighting the danger faced by the psychologist.

The Victim

The victim required immediate medical attention and was transported to N1 City Hospital for treatment. This brutal assault was not the first violent crime committed by Classen. Despite being on parole, Classen had been arrested last month for crimes including assault with intent to injure, kidnapping, and burglary.

Sources revealed that the gate at the consultation block had been left unmanned for an extended period following the transfer of the prison’s head. This lapse in security allowed inmates unchecked access to areas where they interact with psychologists, teachers, or social workers.
