The Limpopo Department of Employment and Labour has launched a four-day registration drive from July 10th to 13th, 2023, aimed at providing free services to job seekers in Sekhukhune district. This initiative will empower individuals and enhance the workforce through the Public Employment Services (PES) unit, which will educate job seekers on the ESSA database and provide career counseling services.

The ESSA Database and Services

The ESSA database offers an innovative system for matching job seekers with suitable opportunities, streamlining the process for both employers and job seekers. To maximize the benefits of this platform, the departmental officials will guide and educate the participants on system interaction, winning curriculum vitae (CV) preparation, job interview strategies, and enhancing employability. Therefore, the campaign will offer career counseling services for those seeking their ideal professional path.

UIF Applications and Claims

The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) will provide resources to assist community members with UIF applications, claims assessment, payment processing, and resolving inquiries. Clients should bring their ID or passport, a completed UI-19 form, a UI 2.8 form, and a salary schedule to access these services.

Accessible Locations

The work seeker registration drive will reach multiple locations in the region, which includes community halls, tribal authority venues, schools, and clinics. The varied locations demonstrate an understanding of the unique needs and contexts facing different members of the community.

Dedicated Resources

The UIF outreach will be stationed at Burgersfort Labour Centre and Ga- Kgwete Community Hall throughout the four-day period, offering a stable point of contact for individuals seeking assistance.

A Hopeful Future for South Africa’s Workforce

These initiatives provide a hopeful future for the nation’s workforce in the face of increasing economic challenges and a constantly evolving job market. With targeted actions and a genuine commitment to empowering individuals, the work seeker registration drive and UIF outreach are poised to make a lasting positive impact on the lives of countless South Africans. The Limpopo Department of Employment and Labour is leading the way in providing the support, education, and resources needed to build a brighter future for its workforce.
