To make vital city services more accessible for their residents, the City of Cape Town is launching the Mobile Office tour next week. The initiative will visit Athlone, Gugulethu, and Steurhof, allowing locals the chance to conveniently access municipal services and interact with city officials in their neighborhoods. The International Ombuds Day celebration will also take place in Athlone, further enhancing the community’s experience with the Mobile Office.

The Mobile Office has planned stops at the following locations:

  • Wednesday, 11 October 2023, from 09:30 to 13:30 at Dulcie September Main Hall, Cnr. Protea and Eland Streets, Athlone.
  • Thursday, 12 October 2023, from 09:30 to 13:30 at Gugulethu Community Hall, NY50, Gugulethu.
  • Thursday, 12 October 2023, from 10:00 to 13:00 at Dulcie September Minor Hall, Cnr. Protea and Eland Streets, Athlone.
  • Friday, 13 October 2023, from 09:30 to 13:30 at Steurhof Community Hall, Cnr. Mimosa and Viooltjie Streets, Steurhof.

International Ombuds Day and Additional Support for Athlone Residents

On Thursday, 12 October 2023, Athlone residents will have a unique opportunity to meet and discuss with city and provincial officials during the International Ombuds Day event. City Ombudsman Vusumzi Magwebu, Western Cape Police Ombudsman General Oswald Reddy, and Director of the Office of the Consumer Protector’s Western Cape Branch, Advocate Ashley Searle, are among the officials intending to attend. Additionally, various city departments and industry regulatory bodies will set up information tables to offer guidance and assistance to the public. Residents can also file complaints at the event.

During the Mobile Office’s outreach, the City’s Customer Relations Department mobile team will be available to help residents with submitting inquiries and service requests electronically.
