Career and Opportunities Expo: Empowering Job Seekers in Oudtshoorn

The Department of Employment and Labour in the Western Cape is hosting a Career and Opportunities Expo in Oudtshoorn to provide a platform for individuals seeking employment or educational opportunities. The Expo aims to connect job seekers with potential employers and facilitate access to information about various work and learning prospects. The event is expected to attract a diverse range of exhibitors who will share their services and prospects with attendees.

Bridging the Gap

The Expo is a significant step towards bridging the gap between job seekers and potential employers. The Department recognizes the importance of equipping work-seekers with the necessary tools to excel in the employment space. This event offers an essential bridge for aspiring individuals to take the first step towards a fulfilling and successful career.

Essential Resources and Guidance

Work-seekers attending the Expo are encouraged to bring their identification documents and CVs for registration on the Department’s Employment Services of South Africa (ESSA) database. ESSA serves as a vital link that connects work-seekers with available job opportunities, helping them to secure suitable placements. Available at no cost for all South African citizens, ESSA is an indispensable resource enabling individuals to navigate the competitive job market successfully.

Addressing Unemployment

The Expo will also offer valuable guidance on essential aspects of job hunting. Work-seekers will receive crucial information on crafting an impressive CV, mastering interview techniques, and identifying potential factors that might hinder them from being shortlisted for job openings. Empowering individuals with the right tools and knowledge is a key component in combating unemployment and fostering sustainable economic growth.
