Former Springbok rugby player, Derick Hougaard, has recently overcome a significant challenge. He played eight tests for the Springboks, beginning with the 2003 Rugby World Cup match against Uruguay in Perth. His final test took place in July 2007 against the All Blacks in Christchurch. With 69 points to his name, including two tries, 13 conversions, 10 penalties, and one drop goal, Hougaard was part of the winning team in four of his tests.
