These graduates come from various corners of the province and have successfully completed the three-month development and empowerment course that the Chrysalis Academy offers. This transformative institution is committed to nurturing and developing the potential of vulnerable young people aged 18 to 25, with more than 10,400 graduates.

Keynote Address by Mr. Reagen Allen

Mr. Reagen Allen, the Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety, delivered an inspiring keynote address during the graduation ceremony. He expressed immense joy in witnessing the pride and enthusiasm of the graduates and their families and emphasized the paramount importance of investing in our youth, particularly those from vulnerable communities. Mr. Allen believes that empowering and developing these young individuals can help dismantle the cycle of disenfranchised youth who may otherwise be tempted to pursue a life of drug abuse and crime. He commended Dr. Meyer and her team at Chrysalis for their unwavering dedication to helping young people discover and reach their potential.

Chrysalis Academy’s Mission

The Chrysalis Academy’s mission is not only to help young people develop physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual resilience but also to inspire them to achieve their future goals. Work Placement Initiative

The graduates’ journey does not end with the completion of the program. They will now enter a 12-month work placement initiative in collaboration with various safety partners through the Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety. This opportunity will allow them to apply the knowledge and skills they acquired during their time at the Chrysalis Academy, further enhancing their personal and professional growth.

A New Chapter for Graduates

Graduation day for these Chrysalis participants signifies not only the successful completion of the program but also the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. These young men are now equipped with the skills, knowledge, and determination to seize the opportunities that await them and to make a lasting, positive impact on their communities.
