Midfielder Haashim Domingo is set to part ways with Mamelodi Sundowns after three seasons. His agent, Lance Davids confirmed that negotiations between the club and Domingo’s camp failed to reach an agreement. Despite the player’s desire to stay, the club’s future plans did not include him.

Injuries Stall Domingo’s Career

Domingo’s career with the Sundowns has been slowed down by a series of injuries. At 27 years old, he is now a free agent and can join any club of his choice. His agent, Lance Davids, spoke to SABC Sport about the situation and revealed that Domingo was keen to continue with the CAF Champions League semi-finalists, but the club’s sporting director, Flemming Berg, had a different vision.

Domingo’s Contributions to the Sundowns

During his time with the Sundowns, Domingo has made significant strides. He has contributed to the team’s success with more than 50 appearances, scoring five goals and providing six assists. His skillset and work ethic have earned him the admiration of coach Rulani Mokwena.

Optimism for Domingo’s Future

Although Domingo and his agent have exhausted all options with Sundowns, Davids is optimistic about his future in football. He believes that the midfielder will not struggle to find a new home, given his age and the respect he has garnered from the technical team.

The Next Chapter Awaits

The next transfer window opens next month, offering the perfect opportunity for Domingo to find a new club. However, there is still a possibility that fresh talks with Sundowns could take place, and the club may reconsider retaining the talented player.

A Dedication to Football

Throughout his time with Mamelodi Sundowns, Haashim Domingo has demonstrated his dedication, passion, and skill on the field. Although his journey with the club has come to an end, there is no doubt that he will continue to make an impact in the world of football. The next chapter of Domingo’s career awaits, and fans will eagerly follow his progress in finding a new team that values his talents and contributions.
