Heavy Rain and Flooding Pose Challenges for Western Cape Drivers

The Western Cape region is currently facing heavy rainfall and flooding, leading to unsafe conditions on the roads. Drivers are being advised to remain cautious and vigilant while navigating the wet and slippery streets. The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued warnings of disruptive rain, with a series of cold fronts expected to affect the province until Friday.

Numerous Roads Affected by Flooding

Several roads in the Western Cape have been affected by flooding, including De La Ray Road towards Parow and UCT Belhar, Giel Basson and Bosmansdam in Parow, N2 Inbound, and N1 Inbound before M5 turnoff. Drivers are urged to proceed with extra care and attention while on these roads. The Baden Powell Drive is currently flowing freely from Stellenbosch to Sunrise Circle, as reported by BadenPowellReports. However, flooding has been reported on several other roads as well.
