Janine van Wyk, the former captain and celebrated defender of Banyana Banyana, recently opened up about her disappointment over not being included in coach Desiree Ellis’ FIFA World Cup squad. Van Wyk has had an illustrious career spanning over a decade, during which she accumulated a record 183 appearances for Banyana Banyana. Van Wyk is determined to break the record for the most capped player on the African continent, male or female, by reaching 185 caps before retiring.
