Orlando Pirates Unable to Secure Bafana Bafana International Bathusi Aubaas

Orlando Pirates, one of South Africa’s top football clubs, has already announced six new signings for the upcoming season. However, the club’s pursuit of Bafana Bafana international Bathusi Aubaas has hit a roadblock. Despite negotiations with TS Galaxy, the midfielder is unlikely to join the Pirates due to a disagreement over his valuation.

Aubaas’ Impressive Skills

Bathusi Aubaas made his Bafana Bafana debut against a strong Moroccan team and showcased his impressive skills in the midfield alongside Mamelodi Sundowns’ Teboho Mokoena.

Mistaken Club Listing

The South African Football Association (SAFA) mistakenly listed Aubaas’ club as Orlando Pirates instead of TS Galaxy in the match day program for the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier. This error upset the chairman of TS Galaxy, who expressed his disappointment on Twitter.

Disagreement Over Valuation

TS Galaxy is reportedly seeking a transfer fee in the region of R6 million ($415,000) for the 28-year-old midfielder, similar to the fee they received for the sale of Given Msimango to Kaizer Chiefs. However, Orlando Pirates are unwilling to pay this high price for the Bafana Bafana international.

An inside source has shared further details about the stalled negotiations between the Pirates and Aubaas. “The move to Pirates for Bathusi Aubaas is now highly unlikely. There was interest, but money seems to be an issue as Galaxy are valuing the player highly and pricing him high. He is valued in the same way as Msimango, who has signed for Chiefs.”

Aubaas Likely to Remain with TS Galaxy

Aubaas is expected to enter the new season as a TS Galaxy player. Even if his situation changes, the prospect of him joining Orlando Pirates appears bleak. This is a disappointing turn of events for the Pirates’ fans, reflecting the challenges faced by football clubs in securing their desired signings.

Complexity of Player Transfers

In the competitive world of professional football, acquiring key players can make a significant difference in a team’s performance and chances of success. Orlando Pirates’ pursuit of Bathusi Aubaas serves as a prime example of the complexities involved in player transfers, demonstrating the intricate balance of power, finances, and valuation at play.

Transfer Window Continues

As the transfer window remains open and teams continue to vie for their preferred players, fans will undoubtedly stay tuned to see if their club can secure the signings they believe will catapult them to victory. For now, the Orlando Pirates and their supporters must come to terms with the likelihood of Aubaas remaining with TS Galaxy and look towards other potential signings to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
