With the Rugby World Cup looming, the Springboks are set to take on Argentina in a challenging warm-up match. However, their lineup has been altered due to the absence of key players who have been deemed medically unfit to participate.

New Team Lineup

Jacques Nienaber, the head coach of the Springboks, has announced the 23-member team for the upcoming match against the Pumas in Buenos Aires. The team will be captained by Bongi Mbonambi, who is filling in for Siya Kolisi, Handre Pollard, Eben Etzebeth, and Duane Vermeulen, all of whom remained in South Africa this week.

Missing Key Players

In the second row, Marvin Orie and Jean Kleyn will be the starting lock pairing, with Lood de Jager missing from the list. De Jager, who last played in the Springboks’ 30-25 defeat against the All Blacks at the Rugby Championship in Auckland, is in dire need of game time before the World Cup. Unfortunately, he has been ruled out of this weekend’s match against Los Pumas due to a medical condition that Nienaber described as “a bit chesty.”

Nienaber explained that selecting De Jager would have been a risk, given his current state. “Unfortunately, Lood is a little bit chesty, and we didn’t want to take a chance. Medically, he is sick, and we felt it would be a bit of a risk [if he was selected].”

Rugby World Cup Schedule

The Springboks’ schedule for the Rugby World Cup 2023 includes games against Argentina, Wales, and New Zealand before the main event. They will face Scotland, Romania, Ireland, and Tonga during the group stage matches, which will be held in various stadiums across France.

Airbnb brings in lots of money and jobs, and even if all Airbnbs disappeared, it wouldn’t fix the big housing shortage. The city needs to build more homes and make it easier to do so, not just point fingers at tourists.
