The Matric Class of 2023 in the Western Cape achieved an exceptional pass rate of 81.54%, despite facing challenges caused by COVID19 and other obstacles. The province had the highest pass rates in mathematics and physical sciences, and over 42% of graduates qualified for a bachelor’s degree. Melissa Müller from Rhenish Girls’ High School was the country’s top candidate.
