During Women’s Month, the City of Cape Town celebrated the remarkable achievements of five women who have secured permanent positions as handywomen within various departments of the city, following their successful completion of the City’s Apprenticeship Programmes.

The City has allocated a budget of R118.1 million for training initiatives in the current financial year, which ends on 30 June 2023. As of 31 March 2023, a commendable 84% of the total training budget has been implemented, demonstrating the City’s commitment to enhancing opportunities for its residents.
