The Human Settlements Roadshow represents the City of Cape Town’s latest initiative to address the pressing need for affordable housing and to build trust with communities across the metro area. By bringing essential services and engaging directly with residents, the roadshow is making a tangible difference to the lives of Capetonians.
Engaging with Communities
Embarking on its journey in early September, the roadshow has already visited various areas throughout the city, such as Kensington, Kuils River, Langa, Morningstar, and Westlake. The initiative has been met with enthusiasm from residents, transforming the way they interact with the City’s Human Settlements staff members.
Councillor Carl Pophaim, the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, highlighted the importance of connecting with residents and providing targeted assistance. “Working directly with our residents and earning their trust is the type of delivery I take very seriously,” he noted.
Services Available
The Human Settlements Roadshow is equipped to assist residents with a variety of enquiries, including title deeds (new and historical), C3 notifications, specific project information, Housing Needs Register applications, tenancy management, affordable housing enquiries, and informal settlement queries.
