The Department of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD) together with Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) are partnering to host an outreach programme at the Cape Town Harbour in the Western Cape. The primary objective of the programme is to celebrate Women’s Month while highlighting the importance of women’s empowerment.
Event Details
The outreach programme is scheduled to take place on August 8, leading to Women’s Day, and will focus on women in logistics to promote the theme of “Accelerating Socio-Economic Opportunities for Women’s Empowerment.” The theme aims to showcase the opportunities available to women in various sectors of the economy.
The Visit
The Minister, accompanied by Advocate Phyllis Difeto, TNPA Managing Executive in the Western Region, and the Chairperson of Women in the Maritime Sector in Eastern and Southern Africa (WOMESA), will tour the Port of Cape Town as part of the ongoing efforts to transform the maritime sector.
