Monster Jam, the world-renowned monster truck competition, has returned to Cape Town Stadium for another thrilling event. The competition is known for its high-octane action, with eight powerful trucks competing against each other in various competitions. The Mighty Monster Jam Trucks

The Monster Jam trucks are a sight to behold, standing four meters tall and four meters wide, with tires reaching 1.7 meters in height. These trucks are custom-designed and powered by super-charged engines that deliver more than 1,500 horsepower. They can jump as far as 43 meters in length, leaving the audience in awe.

Eight trucks were chosen to compete in the event, including fan favorites such as the legendary Grave Digger, Max-D, Megalodon®, El Toro Loco, Monster Mutt Dalmatian, Zombie, Blue Thunder, and Earth Shaker. The Earth Shaker truck is making its South Africa debut, paying homage to the trucks and construction crews that build Monster Jam tracks worldwide. Even the driver’s fire suit was created with a construction crew theme.

World-Class Drivers and Their Skills

The international drivers that compete in the Monster Jam events are world-class athletes who have mastered the physical strength, mental stamina, and dexterity needed to control these 4,500 kg machines. The drivers are capable of doing backflips, vertical two-wheel skills, and racing at speeds of up to 110 kilometers per hour, producing jaw-dropping, live motorsports action seen around the world.

The event will see all-star drivers competing in South Africa, including 2019 Monster Jam World Finals Speedster Champion Matt Cody (Grave Digger); 2019 Monster Jam World Finals ATV Racing Champion Blake Granger (Max-D); off-road short course champion and rising star Monster Jam star, Brandon Arthur (El Toro Loco); Myranda Cozad (Monster Mutt Dalmatian); Chelsea VanCleave (Zombie); Tony Ochs (Earth Shaker), winner of the 2019 Arena Freestyle of the Year trophy; Camden Murphy (Blue Thunder), winner of the 2022 Monster Jam Fan Favorite Driver of the Year; and Charlie Pauken, who previously drove Grave Digger at the 2019 Monster Jam SA tour, returns to South Africa behind the wheel of Megalodon.
