Python Found in Couple’s Kruger National Park Bedroom Roof

A recent incident in the Kruger National Park gave a couple the shock of their lives. While relaxing in their room at Satara camp, they suddenly noticed water falling from the ceiling. Upon inspection, they discovered a python resting on the beam of their bedroom roof. Amazingly, they realized they had slept with the python the previous night!

Mica Bafatakis, who was staying with her boyfriend at the camp, shared their experience on the SANParks Facebook group. She stated that they reported the water ‘leak’ to the reception and continued with their day. However, upon returning to their room, they decided to double-check the roof, suspecting it might have been a snake. However, when they looked up, they saw the python resting comfortably!

The couple was understandably stunned by the experience, but fortunately, the park’s rangers were on hand to remove the python from the ceiling. Unfortunately, such incidents are common in the Kruger National Park, home to various wildlife, including pythons and other snakes.

Meanwhile, a video of a hippo strolling on the premises of Merensky High School in Tzaneen, Limpopo, has gone viral. The video shows the hippo calmly walking by as two vehicles stop to let it pass. According to sources, this is a regular occurrence, as the school is near a river.

Merensky High School is a dual-medium school known for its beautiful surroundings and tranquil environment. The school is dedicated to providing its students with a well-rounded education, and it is clear that the natural environment plays a significant role in this.

These incidents serve as a reminder of the incredible natural beauty that can be found in South Africa and the importance of respecting the animals that call it home. Visitors to the Kruger National Park and other wildlife reserves should always be aware of the potential presence of wildlife and take the necessary precautions to ensure their safety. At the same time, it is essential to remember that these animals have just as much right to be there as we do and that we should always treat them with the respect and reverence they deserve.
