South African media personality and style icon, Bonang Matheba, also known as Queen B, is set to host and sponsor the Miss South Africa pageant on Sunday, August 13th. Matheba has maintained a long-standing connection with the pageant, having been part of the judging panel in 2014, and hosting the event during its 60th anniversary in 2018 and 2019 when Zozibini Tunzi became Miss Universe.

Matheba’s Involvement Goes Beyond Hosting Duties

This year, Matheba’s involvement goes beyond hosting duties as she has also participated as a judge on the Miss South Africa television series Crown Chasers, broadcast over five weeks on SABC 3. She promises a fantastic production that truly celebrates Women’s Month, complete with stunning dresses and a touch of magic.

The winner of Miss South Africa 2023 will be toasted with a glass of bubbly from the House of BNG at the dazzling event on Sunday.

The Contestants

Seven contestants will vie for the prestigious crown at the SunBet Arena at Time Square in Pretoria on August 13th. The contestants are Anke Rothmann, Bryoni Govender, Homba Mazaleni, Jordan van der Vyver, Melissa Nayimuli, Nande Mabala, and Natasha Joubert.

The Broadcast

Presented by Well Entertainment in association with Sun International, the contest will be broadcast on SABC 3, ensuring that audiences across the nation can experience the excitement and pageantry firsthand.
