After Dineo Ranaka, a popular radio presenter, announced her exit from Kaya FM, the radio station introduced a new Afternoon Drive presenter: Azania Mosaka. With over twenty years of broadcasting experience, Mosaka’s appointment to Kaya FM seems like a natural fit.

A Journey through Broadcasting

Mosaka’s career began in 1994 when she co-hosted a youth talk show, “The Joint,” on CCV-TV (now SABC 1) with Tim Horwood. She then worked on BassiQ and hosted Metro FM’s graveyard slot before moving on to the coveted Afternoon Drive. Later, she became the first woman to host the breakfast show in the male-dominated commercial radio industry.

In addition to her radio work, Mosaka also hosted DiscoverHealthier, a podcast series for Discovery SA. She also worked at Power 98.7 and 702 before focusing on her NGO, Peo Impact Gardens. Recently, Mosaka acquired an Honours in Journalism degree from the University of the Witwatersrand.

A New Chapter for Kaya FM

Mosaka’s impressive background and passion for radio make her a good fit for revitalizing Kaya FM, a once-beloved radio station. Her appointment comes at a crucial moment as the radio station faces intense competition in the industry. With personalities like Sizwe Dhlomo and Unathi Nkayi on board, Mosaka’s expertise and broadcasting prowess may prove invaluable in maintaining Kaya FM’s edge in the market.

A Promise of Engaging Radio Content

Though Ranaka’s departure from the radio station generated buzz in the media, Mosaka’s arrival signals a new chapter for Kaya FM. Her remarkable career, coupled with her unwavering drive to make a difference, suggests that the Afternoon Drive may soon become the go-to destination for engaging and enlightening radio content.

As Mosaka embarks on this new chapter at Kaya FM, her wealth of experience and commitment to broadcasting promise to reinvigorate the station and captivate listeners. Her track record of breaking barriers and achieving milestones is a testament to the fact that Mosaka’s journey at Kaya FM is one that many will eagerly follow.
