Load shedding, a common occurrence in South Africa, has returned yet again. Eskom, the country’s primary electricity provider, has confirmed the situation will continue for the rest of the week. The cause is the delay in returning units to service, leading to a significant decrease in capacity and leading to renewed load shedding across the nation.

Load Shedding Schedule

Currently, Stage 3 load shedding is in operation and will continue until midnight. At this point, it will be suspended until 05:00 on Thursday. Stage 1 will commence and continue until 16:00 on Thursday, followed by the reintroduction of Stage 3. This pattern is set to repeat until the weekend.

  • Wednesday, 28 June: Stage 3 from 16:00 to 00:00
