Williams was off-duty and walking with his two-year-old daughter near the intersection of Trampoline and Cadillac Streets when he was fatally shot. He was laid to rest on Tuesday in adherence to Muslim customs.

Arrest Made

Grassy Park police authorities arrested a 40-year-old man on Thursday morning in connection to Williams’ untimely death. The apprehended suspect is believed to be a member of a local gang and may have sought shelter among his affiliates within the Grassy Park policing area. Police spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect will face a murder charge in Mitchells Plain court once formally charged.
