WSAR Team’s Swift Response

The Wilderness Search And Rescue (WSAR) team, consisting of both professionals and volunteers, acted swiftly upon receiving an emergency call on the hotline number 021 937 0300. They knew that every second counted to save the injured hiker’s life.

Multiple rescue teams rushed to the scene, including a specialized team from the Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness EMS/Air Mercy Service (AMS). The rescue operation involved a daring helicopter mission under challenging flying conditions, given the late hour.
